Introducing myself as a Professional Artist usually sparks a whole series of questions and intrigue!

So to help my digital visitors I thought it would be useful to share my most frequently asked questions. However, if you have a question that is not covered here please contact me directly and I try to answer as best I can within 48 hours.

  • 48 Years! I'm 48.

    The alternative answer is that it depends on the size of the piece and the materials - but as a general rule I usually allow about a month for my larger canvas projects.

    Fun Fact: Oil paint takes between a week and a year to dry hard depending on density!

  • How long have you been an artist?

    FOREVER! - or, if you prefer, professionally since 2006 when I quit my rubbish job as a paper merchant!

  • ​​I take a lot of commissions from clients all over the World, each one is different and special.

    The cost depends on the size and type of portrait you require. But typically prices vary from £400 for a small pencil drawing to £4000 for large oil paintings.

  • YES! If you are local to me in North London I might even deliver your painting in person - in exchange for a cup of tea!

    Otherwise, we use only trusted couriers and you will be kept informed of despatch and delivery details.

    I’ve arranged deliveries of my work to clients from all over the world including Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

    Recently, we delivered a painting to a client in Alabama, USA and it arrived in just 2 days!

    Let me know the delivery destination at the start of the project and we’ll do the rest.

  • Portrait painting is a specialist skill and whilst I’m happy to paint animal portraits - which can be done from very good quality photos - I tend not to paint people or family portraits.

  • Yes I'm there every day and I love it!

    I’m very fortunate that I overlook the 18th hole of North Finchley Golf Club which is spectacular! You can see it here.

  • I’ve been exhibiting at the Linda Blackstone Gallery in North London since 2018.

    I also attend a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year - you can find a full list of upcoming events here.

  • I am able to offer a personal installation service for clients based in London.

    For clients outside the London area and overseas, unfortunately, I cannot offer that same service.

    However, I may be able to recommend people who can help with installations.
